Tamiko Chase Design


Hi there!
My name is Tamiko Chase (she/they). I am a mixed-race Japanese-Canadian designer from Winnipeg, MB; Treaty 1 Territory.

I design both digitally and physically - I also work with installation and illustration. Playful investigation and a considerate approach to research are key components to my practice. I like to work closely with clients to create exciting and uncompromising visual identities and products.

The Liminality Project


Liminality, as explored in this collection of zines, is the ability to flow between modes of existence, particularly as a part of the BIPOC and mixed BIPOC experience.

This feeling of belonging-to-many or belonging-to-none can be alienating, disorienting, and difficult to navigate. This collection of zines breaks down two of the contributing factors to one’s liminality - language and body - in an attempt to provide insight to those who are unaware of the feeling of a liminal existence, and to provoke introspection to those who know it all too well.
